Are SigningVault e-signatures legally binding?
Yes. Signatures qualify as Simple Electronic Signatures (SES) under UK & EU eIDAS, the US ESIGN Act, and UETA, the same legal class accepted by HMRC, Companies House, and most commercial counterparties. Each signature is captured with timestamp, IP, device, explicit consent and a hash of the document, all recorded in a tamper-evident audit trail.
How is SigningVault different from DocuSign?
Three things: (1) we draft the agreement for you, DocuSign starts from a blank template. (2) Compliance is included on every plan, not gated behind enterprise tiers. (3) The signing experience for recipients takes seconds, with no account or app required.
What's included on the free Personal plan?
Unlimited drafting and editing of agreements, jurisdiction-aware clauses, and private versioned drafts you can export as a watermarked preview. Sending for signature and legally binding e-signatures are available on Professional and Business plans.
Where is my data stored, and what about GDPR?
EU and UK data stays in-region by default. We honour GDPR right-to-erasure (Art. 17), never sell or share your data, and never train AI models on your documents. A DPA is available to Business customers on request.
Can recipients sign without an account?
Yes, recipients receive a private signing link by email (and SMS on Professional+). They click, review, accept the e-signature disclosure, and sign in-browser. No account, no app.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Cancel from Settings, you keep your plan benefits until the end of the billing period, then drop back to Personal. Documents you've already signed remain yours forever and stay accessible.
